Safe water to your home each day

We work hard to deliver a safe and reliable water supply that meets New Zealand’s drinking water standards.

We have raised formerly ungraded water treatment plants and distribution systems to world-class standards. This includes improving the quality and reliability of water for our regional communities in Rodney and Franklin.

Treating water to government standards

We collect Auckland’s drinking water from dams, rivers and underground aquifers around the region. This raw water can contain contaminants, ranging from large debris to micro-organisms.

At our treatment plants we make sure the water meets the requirements of the Ministry of Health’s Drinking Water Standards for New Zealand 2005 (revised 2008).

We also constantly monitor and test water quality.
