Before you can apply to connect your pipes, we need to confirm that they have been built to our standards and codes. You need to send us:

• Compliance statement CS3

Includes as-built information and evidence to demonstrate compliance.

• Compliance statement CS4 (if required)

Includes evidence to support the design and construction monitoring, daily log reports and schedule.

• Summarised schedule of the assets to be vested. Please email these to compliance@water.co.nz

1. Approval to connect

When the assets are accepted we send you a letter confirming that you can apply to connect your water or wastewater pipes to the live network.

2. Apply to connect

For this stage of the process go to Connecting public pipes. This sets out the steps for connecting to the water and/or wastewater networks.

3. Certificate of Acceptance

When the contractor confirms that the connection is completed, we send you a Certificate of Acceptance.

The developer who owns the new assets must now apply to Auckland Council to vest them. This places the assets under public ownership, which means it is Watercare’s responsibility to maintain and replace them.

• As part of Auckland Council’s 224C process you must send Watercare’s Certificate of Acceptance, with other vesting documents, to the council.
