Register
Go to the register page and follow the steps to set up your account online.
Note: You must be an existing customer and have a water account with us. If you are a tenant, you can register using the water account details for your property.
Log in
We’ve changed our website. This may be the first time you’ve visited since we upgraded. If so, you will need to change your password before you log in
Already changed your password? Just continue to log in as usual.
Change password
Click ‘My details’ in the top bar. Then select the ‘Password’ tab, click ‘Change my password’ and follow the steps.
Edit personal details
Click ‘My details’ in the top bar:
Change email address: The ‘Personal details’ tab is open. Enter your new email address and follow the steps.
Change security question: Click the ‘Security’ tab and follow the steps.
Change billing address: Click the ‘Billing address’ tab and follow the steps.
Edit account details
Note: Updating your MyAccount details will not alter your details on the Watercare account itself.
Click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. Find the account you want to update. At right, click ‘Edit account details’. This takes you to ‘My details’ with the selected account row enabled for editing. You can change the relationship to account, mobile/landline numbers, and company name.
E-billing: set up/update/cancel
Set up e-billing
Click ‘e-Billing’ in the top bar and follow the steps.
Change email address for billing
Click ‘e-Billing’ in the top bar. Find the account, look across the row and click ‘Update details’. Enter the new email address. Click ‘Update’ and follow the steps.
Cancel e-billing
Click ‘e-Billing’ in the top bar. Find the account, click ‘Stop e-billing’ at right, and follow the steps. When e-billing is cancelled, you will receive future bills by post.
Pay a bill
Click ‘Pay a bill’ in the top bar and choose your payment method.
Pay part of a bill
Click ‘Pay a bill’ in the top bar. Choose your payment method and enter the amount you want to pay.
Pay someone else’s bill
Click ‘Pay a bill’ in the top bar. Select ‘One-off payment’. Scroll down to ‘Pay another account’ and follow the steps.
Request a refund
Click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. Find the account and look across to the ‘Account balance’ column. If your account is in credit for $20 or more, you will see the link for ‘Request refund’. Click this and follow the steps.
Apply for a leak allowance
Click ‘Apply for leak allowance’ in the top bar and follow the steps.
Direct debit: set up/update/cancel
Set up
Click ‘Pay a bill’, select ‘Direct debit’ and follow the steps.
Or click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. Find the account and click ‘Show more ’. Look across the row for ‘Direct debit’. Click ‘Set up now’ and follow the steps.
Update details
Click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. Find the account and click ‘Show more’. Look for the ‘Direct debit’ column. Click ‘Edit details’ and follow the steps.
Cancel direct debit
There is no option to cancel a direct debit payment through MyAccount. Please phone us on (09) 442 2222, press 2.
Recurring credit card payment: set up/update/cancel
Set up
Click ‘Pay a bill’ in the top bar. Select ‘Recurring credit or debit card’. Then select the water account you wish to set up for a recurring payment, and follow the steps.
Or click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. Find the account and click ‘More detail’ at left. Look across the row for ‘Recurring credit card’. Click ‘Set up now’ and follow the steps.
Update details
Click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. Find the account and click ‘More detail’ at left. Look across the row for ‘Recurring credit card’ at right. Click ‘Edit details’ and follow the steps.
Cancel recurring credit card
There is no option to cancel a recurring credit card payment through MyAccount. Please contact your bank.
Pay by automatic payment
Please contact your bank to set up this payment method. For more information, go to

Connect to Xero/update/disconnect
Connect
Click ‘Connect to Xero’ in the top bar. Select the account you want to connect, and click the box at right. Click ‘Connect to Xero’ and follow the steps.
To connect another account: Click ‘Connect to Xero’ in the top bar. Select the account you want to connect, and click the box at right. Click ‘Update’ and follow the steps.
Update details
Click ‘Connect to Xero’ in the top bar. Select the account you want to update. Click ‘Update’ and follow the steps.
Disconnect
Click ‘Connect to Xero’ in the top bar. Select the account you want to remove. Click ‘Remove’ and follow the steps.
Check bill details/bill summary
The bill summary displays the opening balance, payment received and balance owing. It also shows current water and wastewater charges and current amount due.
To view the bill summary
Click ‘Overview’ in the top bar. Under ‘Accounts’, find the account and look across the row to the ‘Pay’ button. Underneath this is the link to ‘Latest bill summary’.
View/download/print a bill (PDF)
Click ‘Billing history’ in the top bar. Select your property and a date range, and click ‘Show bills’. Find the bill you want, look across the row and click ‘Download’.
Are you a tenant?
You must be authorised by your landlord to view bills online. Learn more: Authorising tenants
View water use
Click ‘Account overview’ in the top bar. Scroll down to ‘Average daily water usage’. Select your property and a date range, and click ‘Show usage’.
Check when next bill is due
For an indication of the usual monthly billing date for your account, you can check the date on any bill. To view a bill, follow the steps for View/download/print a bill.
Remove email linked to account
Click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. At the bottom right of the panel for the account, click ‘View/remove emails linked to account’. Select the email address you want to remove.
Find water meter serial number
Your meter number is on every bill, on page 2 under ‘Consumption details’. To view online, follow the steps for View/download/print a bill.
Change main account
If you have more than one account, you can choose which is the main account. This will be listed at the top of your account list and at the top of the property dropdown list.
To change the main account
Click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. Find the account you want. Look across the row and click ‘Make main account’. In a few seconds the account will appear at the top of your account list.
Add an account
Click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. At far right of the ‘Accounts’ heading, click ‘Add account’ and follow the steps. You will need to enter the most recent water bill information for the account.
Remove account from online list
Note: This does not remove your water account or services with Watercare. You will only remove the account from the list you manage in MyAccount.
Click ‘Accounts’ in the top bar. At far right of the ‘Accounts’ heading, click ‘Remove account’. Select the account you want to remove. Click ‘Continue’ and follow the steps.
