Commercial landlords and tenants

Are you a business tenant changing premises? The landlord and tenant must:

• Complete the change of lease form.

• Complete the direct debit form if you choose to have the bills in the tenant’s name only.

• Tell us your choice of billing method, ideally e-billing.

Note: If the bill is in the tenant’s name, the landlord is still liable for payment.

When a tenant moves out, the landlord needs to request a special reading. The fee is for the reading, out of cycle invoice and account changes: view charges.

When a property changes hands, we create a new account. This applies whether there is a new or an existing tenant. We do not carry over any information about the previous owner/tenant, billing or payment methods.
If the existing tenant is going to remain after the property is sold, the new owner needs to complete the moving in process as above.

Tip: If you don’t advise us of changes, we always revert the account back to the owner.
